There are many myths surrounding male pattern baldness. It has been rumored that wearing hats will cause premature male baldness. This is untrue and cannot cause hair loss. It is usually because of thinning hair that men will start to wear hats more often. Other myths thought to cause hair loss are  sunbathing, using hair products such as gels and mousse. These men have increased levels of a hormone known as 5(alpha)-reductase, which transforms testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). This where the follicles in the head just simply die off. In my fight to keep active I play flag football in a local league. We have had 2 guys go out this year with Achilles problems.
