There are many myths surrounding male pattern baldness. It has been rumored that wearing hats will cause premature male baldness. This is untrue and cannot cause hair loss. It is usually because of thinning hair that men will start to wear hats more often. Other myths thought to cause hair loss are  sunbathing, using hair products such as gels and mousse. These do not lead to hair loss so you can still keep your wind tunnel tested hair do.
Male pattern baldness is a genetic problem that many men America face. These men have increased levels of a hormone known as 5(alpha)-reductase, which transforms testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). This where the follicles in the head just simply die off. Most men will start to experience some hair loss starting in the early 20′s or 30′s. There are many treatment options including hair transplant and medications.
