Looking up medications online for health care professionals just got easier thanks to a company called ePocrates. It is an electronic tool that can be accessed online or on their handheld to provide up to the minute information and dosing on medications like the ace inhibitor Altace. Since most Americans who take any medication, are usually on more than one, the Dr.’s look up any potential side effects that might occur between different medications, as well as have access to health plan information. Dr.’s can also stay up to date on the latest disease state information through guides provided by ePocrates.
Epocrates is enhancing its free web-based drug and formulary reference guide with patient education materials and additional clinical tools. Clinicians currently have immediate access to the information needed to make prescribing decisions – such as drug dosing, drug interactions and health plan coverage.
