In an attempt to catchup to Microsoft in the battle for video game consoles, Sony announced that they will be giving away free subscriptions to their users of the PS2. This will be done also for the new PS3, expected to be launched later this year. Microsoft currently charges $49.99 a year for it’s users of Xbox 360 to play games against each other online.
