It seems that most debates around health care focus on the escalating costs and what the American government should do to help reduce or control costs. What gets published in the news is that prescription drugs are the culprit even though they only make up about 15% of the total health care costs. Prescription drugs have gained so much attention because this is what they pay for every month. So whether they are paying out of pocket for a generic or name-brand medicine many people don’t look at the overall cost of their care. That is why the Walgreens Prescription Savings Club and other savings plans like this are a great idea. For only $35 per year you can cover your family and it is only $20 for an individual. Not only does it help the store like Walgreens but it’s benefit to the patient is huge. When you add up all the costs that most people spend on prescription medicines it can be in the hundreds even with good insurance.

Being able to get savings on thousands of brand-name and generic medicines at thousands of Walgreens across country is a huge deal. You can also get discounts on diabetic supplies, pet meds, and their photo services. I have used their online photo service and being able to upload photos and then pick them up within an hour at our local Walgreens is a great service.
