In the world of online advertising Pay Per Click is the vehicle of choice for many companies. With the growing number of companies that offer PPC advertising it can be difficult and time consuming for any business or agency to keep track. Many businesses are using Google Advertising, Yahoo Search Marketing, and now Microsoft Ad Center to do their online PPC campaigns. With the market becoming more competitive and the value of a click varies from keyword to keyword it is essential that companies and agencies who implement their strategies be fully aware of what each service brings. Simply.com just completed a survey for 25,000 businesses and their online advertising strategies. They found that only 31% actually advertise online which is quite surprising. Some of the barriers is knowing exactly what and how to do it. Successful campaign management is a key offering that a vendor can bring to their clients to provide timely reports and metrics. There are many ways in which to roll out your SEO strategy and one of those is though appropriate linking strategies that tie into your key words so that in your campaigns that match your overall brand.
In our continuation of how to maximize your search and customer traffic we revisit website monetization through services like Google, Yahoo and other PPC platforms. While these are the top two there are many companies that offer this service. One of the first types of advertising online you are billed on the actual clicks that the ads generate. You will pay higher amounts for more popular keywords so knowing how to target you r keywords is very important. For instance if you are bidding on the keyword “blog”, it may cost you $1.50 per click through your PPC advertising since the word is so popular. But if you were to target your keyword campaign to something like “blog design” you will actually lower your PPC to let’s say .50 per click and really target more consumers. Most companies will set up accounts with a budget in mind but do not have the resources or times to really investigate and understand the importance of keywords that they bid and use for the PPC.
At companies like simply.com their contextual advertising services can help those of us who are new to the world to actually make more money since they will have the right tools and experts to help recommend which keywords to target thus extending your PPC budget. They can help you with your website advertising strategies with their specific technology to help place relevant ads across multiple sites and gain a better return on investment. They are able to use their team to help their clients analyze the market and find which key words are most sought after and which ones are able to get a higher click through with better results. They then work with their clients to track and monitor your various ad channels to maximize revenue channels and can even help recommend where to place various ads and text to use. If done correctly in text ads can drive very targeted traffic to your site or blog and increase your revenue which is the goal of any advertising plan.

Most small business owners are not yet that convinced that online advertising really works. Only a few are willing to try it and yet this small percentage only allot minimal budget for this kind of advertising.

Nearly 50 percent of small business are willing to try online advertising via third party companies like simply.com. This is a good sign because it means people are slowly (but surely!) trusting that the internet is a good marketing tool that can help boost the business profits.

Most SEO companies offer different types of online advertising. The key here is to make sure that the campaign works for you and that the company delivers.

PPC, text link ads, banner ads and contextual links are just some of the many forms of online advertising. I am sure that advertisers need to be educated on what would be the perfect way of advertising for their business and from there, more of them will engage on it.

My uncle told me that his online advertising blitz did not yield the results that he expected. My uncle runs a niche business in online education so his target market is very limited. he said that even when there were clicks from his banner ads, they did not convert into business. My uncle is not alone. I read a survey report that revealed that 52% of business owners surveyed were in the same boat as my uncle. I think that perhaps they are just using online advertising in the wrong way, hence its ineffectiveness.

As an owner of a small online business, I am always looking for low cost ways to bring my brand to the masses. I am always confused about the amount that I should pay for the keywords I am bidding on. I am not willing to pay too much and yet I am aiming for the most eyeballs. A friend introduced me to PPC when I ventured into online advertising but I find it a hassle to manage my campaigns. Survey results show that 46% of small business owners do not know how to leverage on the power of online marketing. I am afraid that I fall into this segment.
By Emily, June 6, 2010 @ 7:58 pm
One of the most difficult things about online advertising is that it could get too expensive if not managed properly. My friend told me about the exorbitant fees that he had to pay a digital media agency to run PPC campaigns as he did not know knowledge about it at all. If that’s not enough, he was required to sign a long term contract with the agency too. It’s understandable, actually, since online advertising is a long term strategy that requires time to see its effect. My friend was not able to renew his contract after one year as it was simply not viable anymore. He now manages his own PPC campaigns but he told me that he’s going on trial and error basis!

The internet has been a great tool for businesses seeing the opportunity from the fact that more and more people are buying products and services online. It made online advertising a great tool to inform and attract customers. But people who will decide to advertise online should know all the things they need to learn because sometimes online advertising can be too expensive.

With the small percentage of those business that have actually advertise online, it is important that they make a careful study on which online advertising they would use, the one that will surely fit and become beneficial for their company.
By Zedruol, June 7, 2010 @ 3:07 am
the importance of online adverting has definitely taken its toll during this modern day time. Businesses must make a careful study on which one is the best and effective way that will help out in promoting and giving enough exposure and profitability for the company in the end.

My client is big on online advertising. He understands that one must spend money to gain more and I agree with him on that. If I have the budget like he has, I’d probably go for online advertising too. Why handle the advertising yourself when there are experts who can do it for you with higher odds of converting it to a sale.
By Mai, June 7, 2010 @ 12:43 pm
I am newbie when it comes to these things about search engine optimization techniques but based on my research, contextual advertising is one form of online advertising that is truly effective. Specifically, the In Text ads since readers now are inclined to look for links within the content they’re reading.
By The Scrapaholic Me, June 7, 2010 @ 8:47 pm
In this internet age when everyone’s has a ready and easy access to the world wide web, entrepreneurs must utilize ways and means of effective online advertising like contextual ads to make their online presence be felt. These contextual ads in sites are advantageous not only for the business being advertised but for the publisher as well. It’s actually a two-way advantage.
By Blue Sky, June 7, 2010 @ 9:08 pm
As I’m on the other side of the fence, I agree that contextual ads are among the greatest online advertising tool in my opinion. As a publisher, I prefer specifically the In Text Ads because they don’t take up that much space and are much less intrusive since no images are utilized. I also noticed that my readers are more lured to check out these neatly tucked keywords and links in my post rather than the loud banners.
By Cook and Brew, June 7, 2010 @ 9:43 pm
Indeed, online advertising has come into its own as a highly regarded and highly profitable form of advertisement. As I’m a publisher myself, I believe that In Text Contextual Ads are the most effective as an advertiser’s link is neatly linked in a keyword that is line with the interest of the viewer.
By Jen, June 7, 2010 @ 9:54 pm
These days, I think that business owners are slowly learning about online advertising and its benefits to their businesses. I will not wonder anymore if they’ll continue to grow in numbers in few years but they need to know what type of advertising will work for their company.
By thisandthat, June 7, 2010 @ 10:13 pm
As a blog owner, I’m concerned on how to drive traffic to my website. It’s also very important for businesses to have more traffic to their sites because chances are it will convert to purchases in the future. I think they have to consider online advertising to increase their visibility and promotions and I believe that contextual links are a good choice.
By abie, June 8, 2010 @ 12:39 am
In this age where Internet is one of the main sources of information, businesses should really consider online advertising to drive traffic to their company’s site and attract customers. A survey conducted by Simply.com reveled that only 15% of the businesses uses agency to help them with their advertising and the rest just do their advertising on their own. But online advertising is a complicated task and so companies should really rely on agencies that will help them find the most effective keywords to use for their PPC campaigns that will drive traffic to the company’s site, maximize their online advertising budget and attract customers.
By Bela, June 8, 2010 @ 1:19 am
I have seen a lot of these pay per click campaigns on different websites and I can say that it is really an effective online advertising tool. But I was surprised when I read the survey results conducted by Simply.com since only 31% of 25,000 businesses actually advertise on the Internet. It is the information age now and advertising on the Internet can really help attract potential customers for a company. But online advertising is no simple task too. Businesses must use the services of agencies who are experts in SEO like Simply.com so they will be assured that they online advertising campaign will really be effective.
By WomenXplore, June 8, 2010 @ 1:29 am
I have heard a lot about SEO and online advertising and how it really helps increase a website traffic that is why I really believe that it is one of the most effective marketing tools that a company can use to attract customers to their businesses. But as per the survey conducted by Simply.com, only a small percentage of businesses advertise on the net. This is sad because if only they will get the services of agencies like simply.com who are experts when it comes to SEO and internet marketing, then they would surely get help in using the Internet to promote their business and in time, attract possible clients.
By mil3tt3, June 8, 2010 @ 2:13 am
online advertising is a good way to promote one’s business and definitely would boost its success. But one has to make a careful study as to which agency to handle their advertising because the one they work with will make or break their business. And also try to look for an agency which has good support system and superb customer feedback like simply.com.
By Milet, June 8, 2010 @ 3:07 am
Today, many businesses are trying to find success in online advertising. Unfortunately not all are able to find the right partner in making sure they achieve what they want. One has to research which agency would really help and has a great knowledge on online advertising. This way they can educate the small businesses and find their way to a failure free online advertising.
